The sun, the salt water, the warm sand against your skin, your hair clinging to your partner’s body… There’s something irresistible about the idea of sex on the beach. It’s one of the most common fantasies, and for good reason: the setting is idyllic, the senses are heightened, and everything invites you to let go. We imagine ourselves after a swim (or during one), carried by the waves, the wind in our hair, the sun on our skin. Just thinking about it gives us chills.
And we’re not the only ones. Outdoor sex—especially sex on the beach or in the water—is one of the most common fantasies. Water creates a sense of unexpected intimacy; the warmth relaxes the body; and being away from everyday life sets something free. Whether it’s the sea, the ocean, a lake, or a river—no matter the body of water—the idea remains the same: to take advantage of summer to explore your sexuality in a different way, in an extraordinary setting.
However, between fantasy and reality, there are a few physical realities that shouldn't be ignored. Salt dries things out, sand gets into places it shouldn’t, water creates specific challenges, and the law has a say in the matter. So before you get started, here are all the golden rules to ensure your memories remain delightful—not painful. 🌊

Rule No. 1: Hygiene
Let's be honest: the sand, the ocean, the pool, and the lake aren't exactly the cleanest places to have sex without worrying about irritation or urinary tract infections. However, to help you fulfill your fantasy of having sex on the beach, we’re sharing a few tips so that hygiene—and your intimate well-being after sex—won’t be a source of anxiety.
- Bring some antibacterial hand gel so you can wash your hands at least a little before doing anything.
- Make sure you have enough water in your bag—not just to drink, but especially to rinse your genitals with clean water before doing anything if you’ve been swimming before touching yourself or engaging in penetration. This is to prevent salt, microorganisms, or particles from the environment from entering the vagina, urethra, or colon, which could disrupt the intimate flora and increase the risk of infection.
- When you get home, you should definitely not put on your damp swimsuit or the underwear you’ve worn all day; instead, slip into a completely clean, fresh pair of underwear that you’ve brought along specifically for this purpose (yes, this means being well-organized and preparing for this moment, but if you’re prone to urinary tract infections, this simple step can really make all the difference in helping you still fulfill your fantasy of having sex on the beach or in the ocean).
Rule #2: Always lubricate
Heat, salt, friction from clothing and sand… all of these dry out your mucous membranes much faster than usual. Natural lubrication, which is often insufficient to begin with, can be drastically reduced under these conditions. The solution? Natural lubricant, straight from the cooler for a cooling sensation, or simply from your bag if you’d rather avoid the chill. A welcome coolness on your intimate areas, and long-lasting glide that protects against irritation. Think of it as an essential, especially under these conditions.

JE CHOISIS MA TAILLERule #3: Use multiple layers of protection
Sex on the beach is great, but it’s not without real risks: grains of sand in strategically bad places, irritation caused by salt, and possible air embolisms in the water during penetration—yes, these are real and serious risks. So we have to be (very) careful.
In practical terms: use several towels layered on top of each other to protect yourself from the sand, or choose to lean against rocks; move slowly and gently to avoid scratching yourself on the rocks or letting sand get between you, this isn’t the time to get too intense or try to change positions too often. If you’re planning to have sex in the water, here’s a golden rule: only penetrate after you’ve completely submerged your private parts to avoid air pockets. And what else? There’s more to life than just penetration. Caresses, oral sex, external stimulation… We’ll leave it up to you to get creative!
Don't forget your natural condoms either: they offer protection against STIs and unwanted pregnancies, even at the beach. My Lubie natural latex condoms are ultra-thin, vegan, and free of controversial ingredients.
Rule #4: Take a shower afterward
The fantasy is over. Now it's time for aftercare. Rinse your body and private parts with clean water (lukewarm if possible), without douching the vagina or anus. There's no need to further irritate the mucous membranes.
Salt, chlorine (if you’ve been in a pool), and sand can irritate the mucous membranes: a quick rinse makes all the difference. Want to use an intimate wash? Remember to wash only the hairy area; if there’s no hair, just rinse.
After showering, take care of yourself by moisturizing your body and intimate areas. There are several options: apply a soothing, natural lubricant to the mucous membranes to provide moisturizing, soothing, and healing ingredients.
Need to soothe and relieve dry, tight skin? My Lubie Intimate Balm orCBD Intimate Oil are very soothing natural solutions to nourish and care for your intimate areas with natural oils and butters.

Rule #5: Keep a low profile
A quick legal note that we’d like to make clear: In France, having sex in a public place—including the beach—is punishable by one year in prison and a fine for indecent exposure, according to Article 222-32 of the Penal Code. If you’re still up for it, make sure you’re fully aware of the risks and, above all, keep a low profile. Traumatizing a family of tourists ruins the atmosphere for everyone.
We recommend that you bring an extra towel to cover yourself just in case, and above all, choose a secluded spot—preferably in wild areas or exhibitionist zones, or even openly libertine ones.
A checklist to make your beach sex fantasy come true:

Now you're all set for a memorable summer—and maybe even ready to take the plunge and make your fantasy a reality by having sex on the beach, in the ocean, or by the pool. 🌞
